What’s Happening in Florence and Tuscany for Christmas
Published on Friday, December 7, 2012 by

If Florence or Tuscany is on your must-visit list this Christmas season, there are some great Florence events for the holiday season, according to The Florentine.  Here are a few of the holiday celebrations in and around Florence that caught our eye:

  • The German Market in Florence’s Piazza Croce runs through December 16th. Enjoy Christmas delicacies from the Germanic countries and have a chance to buy ornaments and holiday decorations from throughout Europe.
  • On December 22 and 24, Santa will arrive make a grand entrance into Florence via a boat on the  Ponte Vecchio. Kids of all ages are sure to be thrilled by his arrival.
  • Enjoy an evening of Christmas jazz  with the Rossini Philharmonica December 23rd at Florence’s Teatro della Pergola.
  • The town of Peccioli turns into a land of fairy tales in honor of the holidays on December 26, 29, 30 and January 5 and 6. Enjoy games, street performers and even a cartoon night.
