perillo-truffle-video-goodWhat’s the most expensive thing you can buy in Italy? Sure, a Maserati or Ferrari is a good guess. But by weight it might be the white truffles of Alba which can go for as much as $10,000 per pound! These tantalizing tubers grow near the roots of oak trees and have a special concentration near the town of Alba, in the northern Italian region of Piedmont. They are in high season right now and with all the rain Italy has received, it has been a very good year for white truffles.

Click here to watch my video to learn all about these amazing white truffles!

If you’re ready to sniff out some white gold for yourself on your next trip to Italy (don’t worry, there will also be a hunting dog to get down and dirty), join our private White Truffle Experience. It includes a full-day immersion into tuber world, including a truffle hunt and tasting.

White truffles aren’t the only delicious products about this area. Enjoy our Piedmont Experience and enjoy a private wine tasting of some of the best vintages in all of Italy (Barolo, Barbaresco, Barbera) and dig into some Langhe meat.
