Milan Children’s Museum Opens This Week
Published on Thursday, January 23, 2014 by

mubaThe city of Milan finally has a permanent children’s museum. MUBA or Museo dei Bambini di Milano opends Friday in Rotonda di via Besana, an historic Baroque building not far from Milan’s center.  While the museum was actually founded in 1995,  it has been running programs without a permanent home, until now.

The museum expects to run three exhibitions per year with inaugural exhibit “Boxes” devoted to books and creativity.  The foundation behind MUBA aims to promote creative thinking in children and prepare them,  free from the stereotypes, for a society that demands more and more creative attitudes .

According to Italy Magazine, “In addition to individual initiatives, the MUBA aims to become a new leisure center and meeting place for families and children, to be enjoyed both in the winter months, thanks to its spacious interiors, and during summer, in the garden of the museum.”

Tickets are 7 or 8 euros per child, depending on the day. Check here for location/hours.
