Romantic Italy: Restaurant with Just One Table

Ah, Italy, the country of romance. Here’s a truly unique romantic experience in Italy – have an entire restaurant to yourself! Solo per Due (Just for Two) is the world’s smallest restaurant, with just one table for two. Guests arrive at the restaurant along a candlelit pathway and are personally greeted by the chef, and unsurprisingly, the restaurant is often the setting for marriage proposals and other romantic occasions. The restaurant, outside Rome in the rural town of Vacone, is located in a 19th-century building on the grounds of a historic villa.

Owner Giovanni di Claudio says, “There isn’t a better emotion than working to give happiness to somebody.” His father, Remo, helps him tend to guests’ every need, providing both excellent service and privacy – just ring a silver handbell and the staff will attend.

Solo per Due is open daily for lunch and dinner and books up quickly (the exclusive restaurant already has bookings for 2016). Dinner is 250 euros per person, including flowers, wine, and music selected by guests. For the ultra-extravagant, request a fireworks display for upwards of 1,900 euros.

“We have only one table and we take just two people at a time, so there are no queues, no turns, and no waiting,” Claudio told The Daily Mail. “All our attention is dedicated to the two people who have booked and we guarantee to give them an extra special dining experience.”
