Spring is upon us and that means plenty of great April events in Italy! Are you traveling to Italy for Easter or spending spring break in Italy, well then consider taking in the following events during an April trip to Italy:

April 14 -22: Settimana di Cultura (Week of Culture) – Italian state-run national museums, galleries, archives, monuments, and archaeological sites throughout the country offer fr’ee admission  during the “Culture Week.” Some sites usually closed to the public will also be open.

April 15: Milano City Marathon – The theme for the Milano City Marathon is “run fast, live cool.” Marathon registration closes on April 4th.

April 25: Italian Liberation Day – On April 25, 1945, Italy was liberated from the grip of Mussolini and the German-Fascist regime. The country celebrates this historic day with parades, ceremonies, and speeches. Rome, as the capital, enjoys the biggest celebrations, including a visit by the president of Italy to the Ardeatine Caves Mausoleum, where the Nazis massacred 335 Romans in 1944.
