American Airlines Adds Flight From Philadelphia to Bologna
Published on Friday, April 19, 2019 by

This summer, travelers seeking nonstop flights to off-the-beaten-path destinations in Italy have one more option. American Airlines will fly nonstop from Philadelphia Airport (PHL) to Bologna four times a week from June 6 to Sept. 29, 2019 on Boeing 767 planes.

With the new route, Philadelphia is the only airport in North America to fly directly to Bologna, which many consider Italy’s foodie capital. Besides culinary delights, the city also attracts visitors with its UNESCO World Heritage Site and UNESCO Creative City of Music status, historic university, more than 50 museums and luxury car factories.

To get from Bologna’s Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ) airport into the city, travelers can use the new Marconi Express train, a quick people-mover ride that whisks riders to the city’s rail station in seven minutes. The Marconi Express is launching this spring.
